SOHOTON

description and photos courtesy of Carlos Javier via multiply.com

These photos were taken during a long weekend in the Surfing Capital of the Philippines, Siargao Island.

Siargao is a tear-drop shaped island in the Philippine Sea located 800 km southeast of Manila in the province of Surigao del Norte.

With a land area if 437 sq. km. occupied by eight towns, the island of Siargao isn't all that big.

The Pacific-facing coast of Siargao is mostly straight, with generally shallow waters, and the entire coastline is marked by a succession of coral reefs, white-sand beaches, and rocky points.

The neighboring islands and islets have similar characteristics.
